One woman was almost called the Aeroplane. Another had a library in the back of her car. Another broke a finger when a bookcase fell on her and another read to tobacco workers. Against fire, water, moths, dust, ignorance and fanaticism, an anonymous army of women takes care of books. It's an intimate resistance, without exuberance, without revolution, without weapons.
